Psychological Stress in Children
Our children often experience feelings of stress, and because we sometimes do not understand the cause of their stress, we may not act with them in a healthy and proper manner. Therefore, here are the most important causes of psychological stress in children:
1. Physical pain or illness: A child feeling pain in their body or suffering from a specific disease can lead to a severe change in their psychological state.
2. Academic anxiety: Anxiety that affects the child due to school tasks, their academic level, and their test scores.
3. Bullying and rejection: Constant exposure to rejection and bullying by friends; bullying can also occur within the family, which exacerbates the situation because the child is exposed to more intense pressure.
4. Life changes: Moving from one school to another or from one home to another can be a cause of psychological stress for the child.
5. Family breakdown: Family disintegration and parental separation are among the biggest factors causing anxiety and psychological stress in children.
6. Negative self-perception: Misconceptions that children form about themselves and failing to evaluate their self-worth correctly, which may be due to their young age.
7. Low self-confidence: The lack of self-confidence in some children is a factor behind severely exhausting psychological pressures.
8. Physical changes: Certain physical changes that surprise both male and female children can cause psychological stress and excessive nervous tension, as they are not accustomed to these changes in their bodies.
