5 causes of introversion in children
Many mothers complain that their child is introverted and does not interact with their peers. There are many reasons for this withdrawal that we must recognize to better handle a lonely or introverted child.
Causes of introversion in children:
-
Feelings of inferiority: This may stem from a disability or a physical illness the child suffers from.
-
Loss of love and affection: Often caused by the separation of parents or the loss of one of them.
-
Strict supervision and over-control: Imposing extreme restrictions makes the child feel helpless and weak when trying to act independently.
-
Changing residence: Moving to a new home can lead to withdrawal due to the change in surroundings and the loss of established friendships.
-
Parental verbal or physical abuse: Reprimanding children harshly for their mistakes makes them avoid social interaction to protect themselves.
